A Design Manager will play a pivotal role in coordinating the design delivery of Transmission or Substation assets, ensuring scope and requirements are met through effective stakeholder engagement.

This position reports directly to our Technical / Design Director and is responsible for overseeing the overall design and engineering delivery of projects. Support from Junior Project Engineers ensures seamless collaboration and knowledge transfer.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders across technical requirements
  • Ensuring compliance across all aspects of the engineering process
  • Monitoring and tracking design deliverables and schedules
  • Providing support to the construction team to resolve engineering issues during the construction phase

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • High-level technical knowledge within the design and construction of transmission assets
  • Significant experience delivering engineering outcomes, including project scope, specification development, and safety in design processes
  • Understanding of transmission system reliability and performance, substation, and transmission system components
