Conservation and Ecosystem Manager

The role of Conservation and Ecosystem Manager involves the day-to-day operational management of natural areas, including bushlands, forests, and wildlife habitats.

  • Assist with habitat restoration, biodiversity conservation, and ecosystem protection.
  • Conduct site assessments, develop management plans, monitor, evaluate, and report on land management projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and manage project budgets.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated understanding of conservation principles, including habitat restoration and species management.
  • Well-developed knowledge of local flora and fauna, including their habitats, threatened species, and endangered ecological communities.
  • Clear understanding of, and experience in delivering conservation projects.
  • High-level oral and written communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree qualifications in environmental sciences or natural resource management related fields.

Benefits:

This is a part-time position, working 23.25 hours per week, with a maximum-term contract (12 months). The hourly rate is $41.42, with competency-based increments up to $49.07, plus 10.5% superannuation. Opportunities for training and development are available.
