Renewable Energy Infrastructure Developer

SunCable is developing the world's largest solar energy infrastructure network, making it possible to power cities with renewable energy.
The Australia-Asia Power Link (AAPowerLink) project will harness and store solar energy from a sunny place on earth for 24/7 transmission to Darwin and Singapore via a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) system.
The AAPowerLink project has potential opportunities for local businesses and suppliers, as well as innovation and investment in various countries.
The Role
Accountability for full cycle development, execution, and commissioning of transmission systems across HVAC and HVDC lies with this role. This includes technical support, feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed design, and specifications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and collaborating with systems studies engineers, OEMs, and consultants to assess the performance of HVDC systems and their impact on the transmission grid
- Developing and reviewing technical specifications for HVDC transmission systems, ancillary equipment, and services in accordance with international standards and best practices
- Working with developer teams, procurement, and legal to develop, implement, and execute a viable approach for OHTL and HVDC projects in accordance with requirements
Requirements
Required skills and qualifications include:
- Deep expertise in all aspects of OHTL, HVDC systems, MV/HV AC transmission systems, including full-cycle project development and delivery of HVDC/HVAC transmission systems
- Experience with VSCs, switchgear, and infrastructure, having operated as a key interface with domestic and international teams and been a critical contact for VSCs and systems integration teams
- Proven track record of developing constructive relationships with internal and external partners, stakeholders, and government corporations
- Highly skilled in project team development, clarity of instructions, and consensus building across owner and contract staff
