Renewable Energy Lawyer

We are seeking a skilled Renewable Energy Lawyer to join our team. As a key member of the group, you will play a crucial role in advising on renewable energy transactions and projects, as well as providing general legal support.

About the Role:
  • This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer to develop their expertise in renewable energy law and contribute to the growth of our business.
  • You will be working closely with our commercial teams to advise on EPC contracts, supply and install contracts, balance of plant contracts, PPAs/offtake agreements, connection agreements, and O&M agreements.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
  • Fully qualified lawyer with 4+ years PQE.
  • Demonstrated experience providing advice on energy or infrastructure projects in Australia.
  • Experience in large or specialised law firm and/or experience in-house at an energy or infrastructure company.
  • Demonstrated ability advising on regulatory matters, including FIRB, Australian Financial Services Licences, Critical Infrastructure, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Finance.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and progress legal matters, escalate issues where needed, and ensure all decision makers are identified and briefed as appropriate.
  • Capability to manage external legal advisers, including managing the allocation of resources and skills between internal and external counsel and ensuring consistent, cost-effective legal support.
  • Demonstrated commitment to driving continual improvement across the business by assisting with the design and use of precedent contracts, adopting new processes with a focus on simplification, and delivering training to the team.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adjust messages for a range of audiences.
  • Ability to influence outcomes independent of hierarchy.
  • Strong conceptual thinking/strategic analysis skills.
  • Ability to apply legal and business experience to appropriately prioritise effort and characterise risk.
  • Flexibility to handle a diverse range of matters across all Business Units.
