Renewable Energy Project Leader

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our renewable energy projects, delivering sustainable solutions for a more prosperous planet.

About the Role

This key position plays a vital part in our strategy to deliver innovative infrastructure solutions. You will be responsible for leading and delivering civil infrastructure components of renewable energy projects, including solar farms, wind farms, battery energy storage systems (BESS), pumped hydro, HV substations, and transmission infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Civil Infrastructure Delivery: Lead and deliver civil infrastructure components of renewable energy projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership across road geometry, earthworks, drainage, stormwater management, construction access, laydown areas, and temporary works.
  • Constructability and Cost-Efficiency: Drive constructability, cost-efficiency, and risk mitigation through all design phases from feasibility to detailed design and construction support.
  • Innovative Solutions: Integrate environmental, geotechnical, and hydrological inputs into practical and innovative civil solutions, particularly in challenging terrain or sensitive environments.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
  • Professional Qualifications: Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) required, with RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) and RPEV (Registered Professional Engineer of Victoria) preferred.
  • Experience: 20+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a mix of road and infrastructure delivery and renewable energy project involvement.
  • Project Experience: Demonstrated experience on projects for solar farms, wind farms, substations, BESS, and/or pumped hydro schemes.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead complex multidisciplinary design packages and interface with contractors, utilities, and government stakeholders.
  • Design Standards: Strong understanding of relevant design standards including Austroads, D&C frameworks, and Australian Standards.
