About the Role:The Senior Forensic Psychologist works on a unit within Ballerrt Yeram-boo-ee, providing high-level clinical psychological expertise to services catering to mentally disordered patients/prisoners as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Provides advanced clinical psychological services to Forensicare services at Ballerrt Yeram-boo-ee, ensuring effective patient/prisoner management and treatment.
- Completes comprehensive reports for court proceedings and contributes to special projects, committees and working parties within the organization.
- Offers consultancy and advice to other agencies and key stakeholders, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Participates in training and supervision of psychology students, interns, registrars and staff from other disciplines, enhancing professional development.
- Serves as a role model, promoting effective and collaborative relationships with Forensicare staff, GEO Prison staff, Clinical staff, Correct Care Australasia staff and Alliance Partners.
- Delivers an advanced range of psychological services, including advice on complex patient/prisoner issues to other clinicians, facilitating optimal care delivery.
- Conducts specialist psychological, psychometric assessments and generates reports where necessary, informing treatment decisions.
- Develops and implements individual and group interventions as appropriate, addressing specific needs and improving outcomes.
- Contributes to patient/prisoner risk management plans in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, prioritizing safety and well-being.
- Promotes consultation and liaison with psychologists from GEO and Forensicare regarding patients/prisoners from the Ballerrt Yeram-boo-ee units, fostering cooperation and shared knowledge.
- Generates independent psychological reports for courts as required, ensuring accurate and timely information.
