Forensic Mental Health Specialist

You have the opportunity to support individuals in their mental health recovery while working in a challenging and rewarding environment. Our team of experts is dedicated to providing high-quality care and investing in the skill development of all our team members.

Our Forensic Mental Health Service works across community, hospital, and prison settings, offering a unique and diverse range of experiences. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team working together to provide excellent supervision and contribute to program development.

The Role

  1. Contribute to the provision of advanced psychological services including advice on patient management and treatment planning.
  2. Develop and implement specialist assessments and reports as required.
  3. Provide individual and group interventions tailored to meet consumer needs.
  4. Participate in risk management plans in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
  5. Make discipline-specific contributions to clinical practice and program development.
  6. Support the training and supervision of psychology students and other disciplines as appropriate.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years experience in psychology, preferably in a mental health setting.
  • Previous working experience in forensic mental health or a related field.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with current best practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of psychological approaches and strategies for working with mentally disordered clients in a forensic setting.
  • Expertise in clinical forensic psychology, including assessment and intervention with offenders and/or forensic patients.
