Job Description

As a seasoned project engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-profile civil projects on time and within budget. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing technical support to the planning, designing, executing, and handover of assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with project-specific requirements and industry standards.
  • Support the lead project engineer to guarantee accurate and timely input for reports, including technical, scheduling, forecasting, reporting, and other deliverables.
  • Develop and manage tender and contract technical documentation using relevant Australian and industry standards and guidelines.
  • Perform thorough evaluations of tenders during the pre-award phase in accordance with Australian and industry standards and quality assurance requirements.
  • Prepare and perform procurement, inspection, and expediting activities.
  • Contribute to the development of execution strategies and methodologies for discipline-specific site construction contracts, including execution optimization.
  • Provide expert technical advice to the project team in resolving technical queries, developing work scopes, and work packs.
  • Ensure that all current design/vendor documents are readily available on site for use by relevant parties.
  • Attend and participate in project and field engineering staff meetings where issues are discussed and resolved.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 7+ years of postgraduate experience in a similar position, preferably within an EPCM environment.
  • Experience in site civil construction with key focus on mining infrastructure construction activities related to tailings storage facilities, pre-strip mining, road construction, airstrip construction, and bulk earthworks (highly desirable).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Proactive seeking and acceptance of guidance and feedback from subject matter experts.
  • Strong determination and drive to achieve objectives through continued professional development.
