Site Maintenance Manager Position

We are seeking a seasoned Site Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance function at a large-scale, complex milling site. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing maintenance teams and implementing efficient maintenance practices to improve plant reliability and productivity.

  • Permanent full-time role
  • An annual salary package with benefits
  • A standard working week of Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, as well as promoting continual process improvement
  • Implementing standardized preventative, corrective, and condition-based maintenance systems to ensure optimal plant availability
  • Overseeing capital expenditure projects to ensure they meet maintenance requirements, including spare parts, PM schedules, maintainability, and plant safety
  • Maintaining effective cost control of maintenance activities and contributing to budget preparation
  • Assisting in the operational implementation of Quality Management systems, Food Safety systems, and Occupational Health and Safety systems
  • Ensuring all maintenance procedures comply with ISO 9002 and HACCP requirements
  • Ensuring all equipment operates within environmental guidelines, such as noise, emissions, and dangerous goods management
  • Providing leadership and motivation to the maintenance team to achieve company objectives, targets, and schedules
  • Allocating staff efficiently to perform duties
  • Managing maintenance training needs according to designed plans
  • Conducting regular reports on maintenance area status and activities, maintaining records, and ensuring reconciliation of commercial activities
  • Meeting agreed levels of internal customer satisfaction
  • Attending weekly national maintenance telephone conferences
  • Completing weekly and monthly KPI reports
Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Qualifications in Engineering, Industrial Trade, or related discipline
  • At least 10 years' experience in industrial site maintenance
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience in maintenance management or supervisory roles
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience in a Food Manufacturing environment; experience in flour milling highly advantageous
Skills and Abilities

The successful candidate should have:

  • Strong internal customer awareness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • 'Hands-on' engineering capabilities
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • SAP experience
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers
  • Leadership and maintenance control skills
  • Ability to manage small in-house projects and contractor activities
  • Ability to manage on-site service providers and contractors
