Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Motion Capture Technician to join our dynamic team. This role can be performed onsite or in a hybrid/remote capacity, with consideration for international candidates and potential visa sponsorship.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a motion capture technician.
  • Proficient in Maya and Motion Builder with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Expertise in motion capture data cleanup and implementation.
  • 3+ years of experience with Faceware or Dynamixyz, as well as Vicon or Optitrack hardware/software.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Unreal Engine.
  • 3+ years of on-set experience in the live performance industry, preferably in motion capture.
  • Experience collaborating with performers and models.
  • Participation in at least one shipped AAA game title or film.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with various motion capture hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of scripting, particularly in Python, to enhance in-house motion capture workflows.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Understanding of broadcast systems and digital video transmission formats.
  • Knowledge of timecode, LTC, VITC standards, and general networking principles (UDP communication, TCP, 'livelink', etc.).
Key Responsibilities
  • Post-processing of motion capture data (tracking, solving, retargeting).
  • Assisting the on-set motion capture team with preparation, recording sessions, and post-production wrap-up.
  • Providing technical support to junior tracking team members.
  • Preparing actors for motion capture sessions.
  • Operating in-house Unreal Engine virtual production tools during shoots.
  • Monitoring video references and/or Helmet Mounted Camera (HMC) feeds.
  • Ensuring quality control throughout post-processing stages.
  • Setting up and creating motion capture skeletons for solving and retargeting.
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on project workflows to enhance efficiency.
  • Fostering positive relationships and effective communication within production teams.
