Aurecon's Energy team in Sydney is a leading provider of innovative engineering solutions for the energy sector. We are seeking an experienced Associate Power Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to transforming the energy landscape.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering and 10-15 years of post-graduation experience in the power industry, preferably in consulting or as a project developer/owner/operator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects and mentor engineers in power systems analysis, including modelling and simulation using tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
  • Provide expert advice on power generation, energy storage, and network operations to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Collaborate with external clients and service providers to deliver sustainable and future-focused projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10-15 years of experience in the power industry, preferably in consulting or as a project developer/owner/operator.
  • Expertise in electrical engineering, including power systems theory and modelling software proficiency.
  • Field experience with power systems behaviour and knowledge in protection and primary systems design.
  • Familiarity with National Electricity Rules and grid connection process within the NEM.
