About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Rail Infrastructure Manager to join our team at Boral Constr Mat Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the management and maintenance of our rail infrastructure, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the annual rail upgrade and maintenance program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operational teams, ensuring the effective management of rail-related activities.
  • Manage contractor relationships, including contract administration, change management, and invoicing.
  • Coordinate annual detailed inspections and patrol inspections, reviewing resulting reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare scope and specification documentation for capital upgrade works, including cost estimates for capital expenditure requests.
  • Submit proposals for capital funding as part of the capital budgeting process.
  • Ensure the successful project management execution and delivery of rail maintenance and other capital projects, meeting customer requirements and delivering business benefits.
Requirements
  • A solid understanding of rail freight operations, including experience dealing with the Rail Regulator and knowledge of basic rail design and standards.
  • Rail accreditations and rail safety inductions preferred.
  • Qualifications in mechanical or structural engineering or a similar field.
  • Contractor management experience.
  • Familiarity with the heavy industry resources/construction industry.
  • Exposure to relevant safety and project management legislation standards and methodologies.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage competing deadlines.
