Job Opportunity

The Rail Infrastructure Manager is a key role within Boral, responsible for the management and maintenance of the company's rail infrastructure. This includes overseeing major capital upgrades, ensuring compliance with rail technical procedures, and coordinating the annual rail maintenance program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the annual rail upgrade and maintenance program.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operational teams and assist with rail-related activities.
  • Liaise with contractors and manage contracts, including administration, change management, and invoicing.
  • Prepare Request for Quotation (RFQ) documents and source quotations, review prices, and award contracts.
  • Coordinate annual inspections and review reports from third-party providers.
  • Manage minor and major maintenance works, including preparation of scope and specification documentation.
  • Submit proposals for capital funding as part of the capital budgeting process.
  • Ensure successful project management execution and delivery of rail maintenance and capital projects.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of rail freight operations and experience dealing with the Rail Regulator.
  • Rail accreditations and safety inductions preferred.
  • Qualifications in mechanical or structural engineering or a similar field.
  • Contractor management experience.
  • Familiarity with the heavy industry resources/construction industry.
  • Exposure to relevant safety and project management legislation standards and methodologies.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage competing deadlines.
