About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Coding Auditor/Educator to join our National Revenue Team at Calvary Care. This is a permanent, full-time or part-time position that will play a pivotal role in integrating education, quality, and operational needs into a reliable and informative centralized point for the National Coding Team.

The successful candidate will support the Calvary Revenue Cycle Team by participating in all aspects of ICD-10-AM Coding, documentation improvement, and health fund contract compliance. They will participate in developing and delivering coding education and training programs, revenue optimization, and provide advice and interpretation of specific coding, casemix, and DRG-related matters.

This role requires occasional travel to our Calvary facilities across South Australia, Canberra, Tasmanian, NSW, and Victorian sites. The ideal candidate will be based in any hospital or head office location and be open to discussing hybrid (work-from-home) opportunities.

Main Duties
  • Developing and delivering coding education and training programs to support revenue optimization.
  • Coordinating audit and education cycles to identify areas for improvement and revenue optimization.
  • Participating in health fund onsite and remote auditing programs to ensure compliance with health fund contracts.
  • SUPPORTING REVENUE CYCLE TEAM IN ASSESSING CASEMIX VARIATIONS AND AUDIT QUERIES TO IDENTIFY AND IMPLEMENT PROCESS AND EDUCATION IMPROVEMENTS.
  • Liaising with clinical staff to provide advice on coding, casemix, and documentation matters.
About You
  • You must have qualifications in Clinical Coding or a degree in Health Information Management/Medical Record Administration (or equivalent experience).
  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Coding Auditing is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Clinical Coding using ICD-10-AM across a broad casemix, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Extensive experience in private health sector funding, billing, DRGs, and Casemix funding.
  • Willingness to travel and work interstate across all Calvary Private Hospital sites (NSW, ACT, SA, VIC, TAS).
  • Strong interpersonal relationships, computer literacy, and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Estimated Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
