Statistics Lecturer

The School of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking a highly qualified lecturer to join our academic team. As a lecturer, you will be responsible for conducting research in statistics and contributing to the school's teaching activities across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will have a PhD or equivalent qualification in statistics, data science or relevant mathematical sciences. They will demonstrate research ability in mathematics or statistics, which aligns with the research directions in the school. Expertise in statistical analysis and related areas is also required.

  • Conduct research in statistics and contribute to the school's teaching activities in statistics
  • Teach statistics, data science, and mathematics courses to a range of audiences at the university
  • Design and develop learning activities and resources and provide assessment and feedback using a range of suitable approaches and learning environments
  • Initiate the development of experimental approaches to teaching and learning with the support of more senior academics
  • Support learning progression with students as individuals and as a cohort to achieve positive learning and employability outcomes

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent qualification in statistics, data science or relevant mathematical sciences
  • Demonstrated research ability in mathematics or statistics
  • Expertise in statistical analysis and related areas
