Senior Biostatistician Job Description

This role will be based in Sydney or home-based anywhere in Australia, working with a leading Contract Research Organisation (CRO). As a Senior Biostatistician, you will provide statistical input into protocol design, including sample size estimations and key efficacy parameters.

About the Role
  • You will develop Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs) detailing methodology and programming procedures.
  • Mentor and train less experienced biostatisticians as required.
  • Perform SAS programming and related activities to support project deliverables.
  • Review and QC of statistical outputs produced by Statistical Programmers.
  • Manage statistical service deliverables across assigned projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with Medical Writers and Project Managers to produce high-quality statistical/clinical study reports.
  • Ensure all analytical programmes are properly documented and validated.
  • Support Data Monitoring Committees and maintain appropriate blinding.
  • Identify and address operational or quality issues, proposing effective solutions.
Requirements
  • A postgraduate degree in statistics or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in biostatistics, ideally within a CRO environment.
  • Expert knowledge in biostatistics for clinical trials and necessary skills to evaluate current processes and propose improvements.
