The Role: Cloud Networking Engineer Trainee

This 5-6 month hands-on learning program will give you the opportunity to intern and work alongside experienced engineers at our Sydney office.

You'll learn, practice, test, and be tested on various networking technologies, starting from the basics to complex networking protocols.

Program Outline

  • Phase 1: Strong Foundation in Networking Protocols
    • Exposure to the basics of networking from scratch
    • In-depth understanding of basic and foundational technologies: Layers of Networking, Transceivers & Cables, ARP, MAC, IP addressing
    • Practical approach and hands-on lab: Develop in-depth understanding by taking packet captures and Wireshark analysis
  • Phase 2: Introduction to Arista Platforms and Industry Trends
    • Application of knowledge gathered through projects
    • Opportunity to enhance and utilize programming and scripting skills
    • Understanding evolution of Arista products per requirements: EOS Architecture and integration to support next-generation cloud and enterprise DCs
  • Phase 3: Advanced Technologies/Protocols and Shadowing
    • Leverage basic knowledge to learn advanced technologies: VxLAN, BGP, xSTP, multicast routing
    • Shadow Technical Solutions Engineers: Opportunity to partner with TSEs to solve live issues, investigating and analyzing data for a given problem
    • Talks from experts: Leaders from systems engineering on industry and deployments

Requirements

  • Masters in a related Computer Networking field
  • Early career (1-4 years) network engineers keen to dive deep into the technical side of things
