Job Description

This role involves collaborating with the Engineering Productivity (EngProd) team to design, build, scale, and operate systems used by Arista's development teams. You will work with industry-standard tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Grafana, Spinnaker, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Google Cloud, and Varnish, as well as internal systems to automate CI/CD, testing, analysis, and visualization.

The EngProd team prioritizes observability, striving to monitor and visualize all aspects of our tooling and infrastructure. As a member of this team, you will own your projects from definition to deployment and customer interactions, ensuring the quality of everything you deliver.

Responsibilities
  • Building, integrating, and maintaining tools and infrastructure to facilitate internal development and testing.
  • Improving maintainability of the build system.
  • Evaluating new tools and technologies.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Participating in the design and implementation of new systems and infrastructure projects.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 4+ years of commercial experience in DevOps/SRE engineering.
  • UNIX/Linux systems administration experience, preferably with RedHat/CentOS.
  • Experience with containerization and container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD orchestration and software configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Salt, Chef).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge/experience with Makefile/make scripting or high-level languages like Python, Bash, Go, C++, etc.
Estimated Salary

$140,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and location.
