Trade Assistant Job Opportunity">

The position available is for a Trade Assistant who will be working on one of our long-term Defence contracts. The role involves performing all trade-related tasks associated with the maintenance and repair of vehicles, plant, and equipment. You will also assist in maintenance and storeroom tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing tools and equipment within the Supply Customer Account/s on the Commonwealth Mandated Information System and on Asset Registers
  • Conducting maintenance tasks within the applicable competencies, under the supervision of a tradesperson
  • Contributing to collaborative innovation by identifying continuous improvement initiatives
  • Operating plant and machinery as required and provided by the Commonwealth to perform maintenance tasks
  • Performing additional work-related responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader

Requirements:

  • Experience in technical related work preferably part-qualified in a Certificate of Trade Proficiency relevant to the trade environment
  • Hold a valid Forklift License
  • Demonstrated experience in manual handling
  • Possess a current Australian State or territory Class C Driver's Licence

This role requires you to be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1, making you an Australian Citizen.
