Job Opportunity

The Student Progress Adviser is a key role in supporting students with proactive, personalized academic intervention, progression advice, and academic support. This includes working with students to set academic goals, advise students on their performance and future study plans, and participate or host academic support webinars.

This position requires the ability to utilize Higher Education environments and study options, deliver efficient and effective interventions to students at academic risk, and provide a safe space for open discussions with students in need of progression advice and academic improvement support.

The successful applicant will have relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. education, social work, welfare) or relevant experience in a Higher Education setting, excellent oral and written communication skills, and excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Deliver student webinars, seminars and support modules which advise students on progress matters including but not limited to academic improvement strategies, progress supports, transition to UNSW and College pathway options.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to build relationships at all levels and maintain a high level of service delivery.

This is a hybrid role, allowing you to balance your week between working from home and our modern offices in Kingsford. Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilise university systems and teacher feedback to deliver interventions to students at academic risk.
  • Deliver interviews for students at risk of exclusion from their course of study due to failure to maintain satisfactory attendance.
Requirements
  • Understanding of Higher Education environments and study options.
