Emergency Department Nursing Opportunities

We are seeking highly skilled and clinically experienced nurses to join our professional team in the Emergency Department.

The department provides 24/7 care to residents and visitors of the Northern Beaches community. Our modern facilities comprise of 50 beds and treatment spaces, divided into zones:

  • Paediatrics
  • 24 hour Short stay
  • Adult acute assessment
  • Resuscitation
  • Mental health assessment
About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding role for Registered Nurses (RNs) who want to make a difference in patient care. You will work collaboratively with Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) providing supervision, direction and guidance to deliver exceptional patient care.

You will also provide support and guidance to nursing peers and patients for the management of their healthcare needs, rehabilitation or end of life care. In addition, you will maintain a professional development portfolio with a commitment to ongoing learning and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care based on researched standards
  • Lead the coordination of nursing care and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Provide supervision, direction and guidance to ENs and AINs
  • Support nursing peers and patients in the management of their healthcare needs
  • Maintain a professional development portfolio
Requirements
  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an Emergency Nursing environment
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Emergency Nursing (or working towards)
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
