Job Title: In-House Legal Advisor

The organization is seeking an experienced In-House Legal Advisor to join its team. This role will provide high-level, independent legal advice to senior officers and deliver Legal Services to the department.

About the Role:

  • Demonstrate cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture aligned with the Human Rights Act 2019.
  • Provide expert advice on complex policy and process issues to senior officers.
  • Manage a broad range of legal work including statutory interpretation, judicial review, and corporate governance.
  • Plan, organise, lead, and manage the staff and resources of the Legal Services branch.
  • Source external legal support and instruct external providers of legal services.
  • Negotiate and influence across all levels of government and industry stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. A strong understanding of Queensland Government policies and processes.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to lead and manage a team.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Experience in legal practice or law reform.
