Position Overview
The role of a Security Officer encompasses various responsibilities across different sectors. This description outlines the general duties associated with this position and serves as a guideline rather than an exhaustive list of tasks.
- Permanent Full-Time employment;
- Competitive hourly compensation along with shift penalties;
- Standard working hours from Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to operate across multiple locations on a rotating schedule.
Role Responsibilities
MSS Security is seeking Security Officers to provide services at court facilities throughout the Sydney CBD. The primary focus of this role is to maintain a security presence within the court and deliver outstanding customer service to both staff and visitors. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting foot patrols of court premises, both indoors and outdoors;
- Managing the locking and unlocking of property as necessary;
- Assisting and directing visitors and the public in navigating court areas;
- Documenting incidents through detailed reports;
- Communicating effectively and calmly with key stakeholders;
- Overseeing visitor sign-in/induction processes and maintaining key registers while issuing key passes.
Candidate Profile
This role is structured as a relief officer position, operating Monday to Friday with the potential to work across various sites on a rotating basis.
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A Certificate II in Security Operations and a current First Aid certification;
- A valid NSW Security license;
- A strong commitment to reliability and security;
- Physical fitness, with the ability to walk and stand for extended periods;
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with approachability;
- A high level of computer literacy;
- The capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
