
Medical Officer Role in Intensive Care Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Officer to join our team in the Intensive Care unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective medical services to patients under supervision in a complex clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate admission, management and discharge planning of patients seen in or admitted to the Intensive Care unit.
- Document patient care to the minimum medico-legal standard, as set out by policy.
- Work 80 hours per fortnight, including evening, weekend and night shifts.
- Attend regular continuing Medical Education programmes for medical and nursing staff.
- Support/supervise Resident medical Officers working within the Intensive Care unit.
The hospital serves a population of over 40,000 people, with approximately 25,000 patients per year in the Emergency Department.
Clinical streams include Multidisciplinary teams, Consumers/Carers, Other Clinical Divisions, JMO Management, and multidisciplinary meetings are held.
