Senior Medical Officer

The primary purpose of this role is to provide effective medical services to patients under supervision in a complex clinical environment. The key accountability includes coordinating the admission, management, and discharge planning of patients seen in or admitted to the Intensive Care unit.
Key Responsibilities:- Co-ordinate patient admissions, management, and discharge planning in collaboration with senior medical staff.
- Document all patient care activities in accordance with Bathurst Hospital's medico-legal standards.
- Provide day-to-day assessment and management of patients in the Intensive Care unit, communicating effectively with them and their families regarding their condition and treatment.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, arranging consultations with other staff members when necessary, and liaising with local medical officers and community-based care modalities.
- Make decisions concerning patients in consultation with their immediate supervisor, adhering to Bathurst Hospital's policies and procedures.
The successful applicant will be working within a dynamic and innovative organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of its community. They will be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides specialist services in various areas, including Renal Medicine, General Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Dentistry, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Paediatrics.
Requirements and Qualifications:- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
