The Chandler Macleod team is seeking an experienced EL1 Assistant Director Finance to join our team on a 6-month casual temporary assignment. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for producing audited annual financial statements, budgets, and financial reports, as well as providing financial advice to support decision-making and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, preparation, execution, and monitoring of external budget and reporting activities.
- Update annual estimates and monthly profiles in alignment with Government's budget processes.
- Liaise and negotiate with the Department of Finance and other external stakeholders on budget-related matters.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Department of Finance.
- Develop and implement team operating procedures and user guides.
- Deliver the Agency's Budget and various Finance projects.
- Partner with teams within and external to the branch to provide general accounting and strategic financial advice.
- Manage and update relevant Agency costing models and prepare costings for budget rounds as required.
- Manage and maintain Agency AAIs and other financial policy.
To be successful in this role, you will possess relevant academic qualifications with membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) or other equivalent professional finance bodies. You will also have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
What We Offer- A competitive hourly rate of $602.55 plus super.
