Electrical Systems Design Engineer

This role is critical in delivering high-quality design solutions for high voltage electrical systems.

  • Perform and review high voltage designs in accordance with Australian and IEC standards, as well as technical requirements.
  • Complete detailed design calculations including short circuit forces, conductor sizing, lighting and lightning protection studies.
  • Investigate and implement innovative design solutions to meet project and business needs.
  • Review high voltage external designs to ensure quality and compliance.
About the Opportunity

The successful candidate will have a degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, extensive experience in high voltage design across all functional areas of transmission network substations, and specialised expertise in a range of technical processes and procedures related to substation design.

  • Skilled in completing and reviewing project designs in collaboration with external consultants.
  • Proficient in engineering business systems and design software, preferably Bentley ProjectWise and MicroStation.
