Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Electrical System Design Specialist, responsible for providing detailed designs and specifications, as well as interfacing with various stakeholders.

The successful candidate will build strong relationships with our in-house teams and clients to effectively deliver results that meet client expectations.

As part of our multi-disciplined engineering team, you will work collaboratively to solve complex problems throughout the project lifecycle, focusing on secondary system design involvement.

  • Plan and conduct professional engineering work on EHV/HV Secondary Systems Strategic Planning and Conceptual Design.
  • Provide detail design services on specialist engineering areas including Protection Detailed Design, Primary Plant and Secondary Systems Equipment Specification and Procurement, Protection & Control Detail Schematics and Integration, Grid Metering, Power Quality and High Speed Monitoring Installations, Load flow, Fault level and dynamic studies and analysis, Engineering Network/Data Network Architecture and Configuration, Control System Detailed Design and Configuration, Communication Systems and General AC & DC System Specification and Distribution Design.
  • Check design work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
  • Provide technical support to Business Development, Tendering and Operations as required.
  • Assist with site commissioning.

To be successful in this role, you should have an Electrical Engineering degree and at least 3 years' experience in Design, integration & coordination, installation & commissioning of electrical systems and services for high voltage power systems.

A strong understanding of secondary system design from basic concept development through to detailed design is highly desirable, as well as industry experience in relevant Power System Protection and Automation software packages / equipment suppliers and products.

Strong computer skills, excellent relationship building, problem solving, commercial and negotiation skills, and a positive approach to safety are essential for this role.
