The First Nations Mentor role at The BUSY Group is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a strong understanding of the needs and aspirations of First Nations communities.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to assist in engaging with our First Nations customers and local community actively and effectively. The successful candidate will work closely with the leadership team to develop and implement culturally appropriate initiatives, ensuring that our services meet the unique needs of this group.
This full-time, fixed-term position (until 30 June 2025) is based in one of our offices in Strathpine, Caboolture or North Lakes. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of First Nations people by providing high levels of customer service, mentoring and support. Main Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to external and internal stakeholders, including First Nations customers and their employers/host organisations.
- Develop and deliver culturally appropriate non-accredited pre-placement training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants and their employers or host organisations, in line with Workforce Australia Guidelines.
- Mentor and support First Nations customers to ensure a successful transition into sustainable employment, and provide ongoing post-placement support as required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, supporting their personal growth, cultural identity and connection with their community.
- Engage with First Nations communities in our areas of operation to promote our services and build trust.

About You:
- You identify as a First Nations person.
- You have knowledge of safe and culturally appropriate work practices for First Nations people.
- You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- You are capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- You understand the recruitment needs of First Nations customers, and have prior experience within the employment services sector.
- You hold a current Working With Children's Check and National Police Check, or are able to obtain one.
