Job Title: Academic Tutor

Are you passionate about education and dedicated to helping students succeed? We are seeking an experienced Academic Tutor to join our team.

This is a unique opportunity to work with students in their homes, libraries, or other suitable locations. As an Academic Tutor, you will provide individualized support to students, helping them to achieve their academic goals.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced teacher or tutor who can work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality educational services. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work flexibly, and be committed to supporting the academic success of our students.

  • Effective communication is key to success in this role. You will need to communicate clearly and empathetically with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of student progress and development.
  • Displaying empathy and respect for students with diverse needs is crucial in this role.
  • Assisting students with homework, assessment, and general skills development is a key aspect of this position.
  • You will also be required to support senior students with career development and redirection.
  • Communicating with parents about further learning options and advice is also an important part of this role.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching or tutoring, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also be committed to supporting the academic success of our students and providing high-quality educational services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality tutoring services to students.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, other agencies, and our team to support student learning.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans and strategies that meet the needs of individual students.
  • Report progress and provide feedback to parents and colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Current QCT registration (or willingness to register).
  • 1 year of teaching experience (preferred).
  • Working with Children Check (preferred).
  • Driver's License (preferred).
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week.
