Shape the future of learning for our Middle Years students

St Joseph's Nudgee College is seeking an experienced and innovative Director of Learning and Teaching – Years 7 to 9 to lead excellence in pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment.

This pivotal leadership role ensures the continuity of learning between Junior and Senior School, promotes evidence-based teaching practice, and supports both staff and students to thrive within the Edmund Rice tradition.

As Director of Learning and Teaching (Years 7 to 9), you will:

  • Oversee academic programs, compliance, assessment, and curriculum design
  • Lead improvement in teaching practice through coaching and data-informed change
  • Collaborate with Heads of Faculty to drive best practice in boys' education
  • Promote innovation, ICT integration, and contemporary pedagogy across faculties
  • Provide leadership in curriculum continuity, testing programs, and staff development

This is a Tier 4+ leadership position, offered on a 5+4 year fixed-term contract commencing Wednesday 14 January 2026.

About you

You are an accomplished educator with:

  • Proven leadership in curriculum, teaching, and assessment
  • A deep understanding of the Australian Curriculum and middle years pedagogy
  • Strong skills in data analysis, coaching, and leading change
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills
  • Current QCT registration and extensive classroom experience

Postgraduate qualifications in education or educational leadership, and knowledge of the Science of Learning, will be highly regarded.
