About this role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Workplace Health and Safety Officer to join our team. In this critical position, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment through effective contractor management, occupational health and safety reporting, audits, injury registration, and system improvement.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a similar role with a strong focus on workplace health and safety.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

In order to succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate 4 in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.

Key Responsibilities

Contractor Management: Ensure that all contractors working on site have the necessary training and equipment to perform their job safely.

Occupational Health and Safety Reporting: Monitor and report on workplace incidents and near misses, and implement strategies to prevent future occurrences.

Audits: Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

Maintaining Injury Register: Keep accurate records of workplace injuries and illnesses, and provide regular reports to management.

Reporting: Provide regular updates to management on workplace health and safety matters, and make recommendations for improvement.

Workplace Health and Safety Systems and Process Improvement: Continuously monitor and improve workplace health and safety systems and processes to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
