Job Title: Workplace Health and Safety Specialist

The role of Workplace Health and Safety Specialist is a key position within our organization, responsible for overseeing and driving the consistent implementation of health and safety systems across the Dandenong site. This includes ensuring the organization meets its legal and ethical obligations to provide a healthy and safe workplace.

As a WHS leader on site, you will connect site activities with group-level initiatives and champion the implementation of the Group Health and Safety System (policy, procedures, and tools). This includes communicating with site management, conducting inspections and audits, supporting hazard assessments, and overseeing incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions related to health, pollution, contamination, and waste management.

  • Providing oversight of health, safety, and environmental incidents, supporting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Monitoring and driving activities with external regulatory bodies (such as WorkSafe and EPA), and recommending continuous improvements for the Group HSE System.
  • Planning and implementing environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Identifying common hazards at the site and establishing guidelines for hazard control.
  • Promoting a zero-harm culture by providing expert advice, support, and driving the implementation of the Group HSE system, including advising site leadership.
  • Training and educating site leaders on our safety management systems.
Key Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, codes of practice, standards, and associated obligations.
  • Skills in hazard identification, risk management, and incident investigation.
  • Experience in implementing, monitoring, and auditing safety or environmental management systems.
  • High computer literacy and administrative skills.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, large multinational, or listed company environments.
  • High initiative and ability to work effectively both on-site and remotely within a broader HSE team.
