About the Opportunity

The University of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate / Senior Research Associate to join our team in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for conducting research on characterising and improving the cryogenic performance of carbon fibre reinforced polymer composites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and characterise high-performance cryogenic composite materials
  • Work with analytical materials characterisation tools (SEM, Raman, FTIR, etc)
  • Conduct independent research with limited supervision
  • Participate in conferences and workshops
  • Assist with the supervision of students

Requirements

  • PhD in a related discipline (Mechanical/Aerospace/Materials/Manufacturing Engineering)
  • Research experience in cryogenic materials
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
