About the Opportunity
The University of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate / Senior Research Associate to join our team in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. As a Research Associate, you will be conducting research both independently and as part of a team, focusing on characterising and improving the cryogenic performance of carbon fibre reinforced polymer composites.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on cryogenic materials, developing and characterising high-performance composite materials.
- Work with analytical materials characterisation tools (SEM, Raman, FTIR, etc.) to assess the cryogenic performance of materials.
- Collaborate with fellow researchers and students to achieve research goals.
- Participate in conferences and workshops to share research findings.
- Assist with the supervision of students and contribute to the development of research projects.
Requirements
- PhD (or soon to be awarded) in a related discipline, such as Mechanical/Aerospace/Materials/Manufacturing Engineering.
- Research experience developing and characterising high-performance cryogenic composite materials.
- Demonstrated ability to work with analytical materials characterisation tools.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
