Job Overview

The goal of the Regional Fleet Manager is to utilize company assets efficiently, focusing on maximizing usage while minimizing lifecycle costs.

This role requires collaboration with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and align with business objectives, promoting a culture of safety, customer focus, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers through regular site visits to document action items and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and execute opportunities that enhance customer experience and reduce costs.
  • Analyze fleet utilization data to optimize equipment allocation and reduce waste.
  • Troubleshoot issues affecting fleet performance, working closely with suppliers and maintenance teams to resolve problems.
  • Review cost reports to understand trends and make informed decisions about asset management.
  • Approve repair and maintenance expenditures up to $5K, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Recommend equipment disposal or rotation to ensure optimal capital planning.
  • Support daily operations by coordinating equipment rentals, transfers, and disposals.
  • Monitor and review ongoing use of rental equipment against preferred suppliers and rates.
  • Inspect fleet condition and provide feedback to sites and workshops to improve standards.
  • Educate business units on fleet-related processes and best practices.
  • Work with teams to ensure seamless transition of new vehicles into service and retired vehicles out.
  • Respond promptly to follow-up requests and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Capture and report on initiatives in line with expectations.
  • Knowledge/Experience: 5+ years in fleet management with expertise in supplier and customer relationship management.
  • Technical Skills Required:
    • Strong mechanical knowledge of road fleets, including Prime Movers, Rigid Trucks, and Trailers.
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • HR Driver's License.
