Fleet Operations Manager

This is a leadership position overseeing daily operations of our Western Australia workshop, supporting road surfacing activities across the state. As an experienced manager, you will be responsible for workload distribution, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

  • Lead and motivate a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff to optimize performance and efficiency
  • Evaluate and implement effective maintenance strategies for fleet assets, ensuring they are serviced and repaired in a timely manner
  • Cultivate a Zero Harm and compliance culture within the workshop, promoting a safe working environment
  • Maintain strong communication channels with clients, operational managers, and project teams to ensure seamless collaboration
  • Monitor performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive excellence
  • Oversee resource allocation, work plans, and budget management to achieve desired outcomes
  • Ensure regulatory and environmental compliance, including record-keeping and audits

Requirements:

  • A trade qualification (Diesel Mechanic or Fitter) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing a workshop or fleet maintenance team
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with a focus on building high-performing teams
  • Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, fostering collaborative partnerships
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with a results-driven approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with asset management systems (desirable)
