As a skilled printer, you will be responsible for operating high-speed printing presses to produce daily and weekly newspapers at a professional standard. Your primary goal will be to ensure that every print run is accurate, on time, and of the highest quality.

The role requires hands-on experience with modern web offset presses, as well as strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. You should have prior experience in print production or operating commercial printing equipment, and be comfortable working with large machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up and running high-speed printing presses
  • Monitoring press performance and quality throughout each run
  • Making real-time adjustments to ink flow, tension, registration, and alignment
  • Troubleshooting technical issues to avoid downtime
  • Performing routine maintenance and assisting with mechanical repairs when needed
  • Working closely with editorial, prepress, and finishing teams to meet daily deadlines
  • Following safety protocols and ensuring proper handling of equipment and materials

What We're Looking For:

  • Prior experience in print production or operating commercial printing equipment (preferred)
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with large machinery
  • Strong attention to detail and a good eye for print quality
  • Ability to work on your feet
  • Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, or holiday schedules
  • Reliability and a strong sense of ownership over your work

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with newspaper-specific press equipment
  • Knowledge of prepress and finishing processes
  • Familiarity with automation systems
