The Case Advisor role focuses on ensuring the rights and best interests of Aboriginal children are protected and promoted.
About the RoleThis position works collaboratively with child protection to support families where allegations of abuse and neglect have been made. Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging closely with child protection staff in local areas to meet with families and facilitate case planning.
- Contributing to assessments, placement planning, and decision-making processes to ensure an Aboriginal perspective is considered.
This role requires strong partnerships with child protection services and a commitment to upholding the best interests of children.
About YouWe seek an individual who:
- Shares VACCA's vision and purpose.
- Holds a diploma in Community Services Work or a similar discipline/framework, with experience working with Aboriginal families in the community.
- Demonstrates sound knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values.
- Can work effectively with child protection and other services to advocate for children's needs.
This role also requires a valid police check, a Working with Children's Check, and a Victorian Driver Licence.
