The Case Advisor role collaborates closely with child protection to ensure the rights and best interests of Aboriginal children are upheld.
This position requires participation in the Lakidjeka After hours roster as needed.
- Key Values: Commitment to and understanding of values that underpin VACCA's vision and purpose.
- Diploma Requirements: Diploma of Community Services Work or similar discipline/framework with demonstrated industry experience in working with Aboriginal families in community.
- Cultural Understanding: Sound knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, with ability to share this knowledge with child protection and other services.
- Child Protection: Understanding of issues impacting on Aboriginal families leading to child protection involvement.
- Advocacy Skills: Ability to work closely with child protection and other services to advocate for the child and support the best interests of children.
- Risk Assessment: Ability to identify risk of harm to children and young people and undertake risk assessments within a cultural framework.
