We're seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our national Commercial Insurance practice in Sydney. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with our insurance partners and Head of Business Development, Zac Robinson.

About the Role

This role is ideal for a seasoned Senior BD Consultant / Executive looking to step up into their first BDM position or an emerging BDM eager to be mentored and developed by the Head of BD. You'll play a key part in delivering timely and reliable Business Development services to support the effective implementation of our practice groups' strategic plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Strategize and drive activities to strengthen relationships with key clients, supported by the Head of BD and other BD & Marketing team members
  • Bid Management: Qualify, produce, and project manage bids and quotes, including managing pre-bid and post-bid submission activities, such as chairing kick-off meetings and conducting tender debriefs
  • Matter Information Management: Capture and maintain relevant matter information for use in bids, capability statements, CVs, website submissions, and legal directory submissions, assisted by the Insurance BD Coordinator and communications team
  • Marketing Campaigns: Develop and implement leading marketing campaigns to maximize value from marketing spend
  • Content Strategy: Project manage the development and execution of a content marketing strategy
  • Marketing Materials: Project manage the development and maintenance of a full suite of Insurance marketing materials
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the BD and Marketing & Communications teams, providing assistance and support as needed

About You:

  • Proven business development experience in the insurance industry, either from a law firm or insurer
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including experience in delivering strong written tenders and capability documentation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Genuine interest in staying up-to-date with insurance industry trends and implications for the firm and key clients
