Graduate Tax Consultant

We are seeking a recent or soon-to-be graduate with a passion for tax law to join our team as a Tax Professional. This role offers a dynamic and evolving environment where you will help clients navigate Australia's complex tax landscape with confidence.

You will provide tailored solutions to minimize risk, maximize opportunities, and ensure compliance in this exciting field.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Degree in Law and/or Commerce/Business/Economics; tax or business law subjects highly regarded.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills; ability to interpret complex law and develop clear solutions.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and accountable for deadlines and quality.
  • Australian citizen preferred (due to government client work); PR/work-rights considered.
Job Responsibilities
  • Turn law into advice - interpret legislation, cases, and ATO rulings; draft client-ready advice, memos, and emails.
  • Own workstreams - build outcome comparisons (CGT, Div 7A, distributions, roll-overs) and present recommendations.
  • Lead ATO engagement - prepare ruling requests, objections, and meeting packs; shape strategy and correspondence for reviews/audits.
  • Run controversy matters - assemble evidence, draft submissions/briefs, and support cases in the ART or court.
  • Shape transactions - design step plans for restructures, succession, and funding.
  • Collaborate nationally - work with our specialist partner group on diverse, complex matters.
  • Develop fast - act on feedback, mentor undergrads, and contribute to BD and thought pieces.
