Category Manager

The organisation is seeking a strategic category manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
This role involves the development and implementation of category strategies in partnership with University stakeholders to deliver savings within the organisations policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Spend and market analysis in support of category strategy
- Development and roll-out of category and sourcing plans
- Establishment and maintenance of strong internal relationships
- Lead the strategic sourcing process including negotiation
- Provision of commercial advice
- Development and implementation of Supplier Relationship Management plans
- Maintenance of the contract register and identifying contracts requiring action
- Assist with the review and development of the procurement strategy
Requirements for this role include:
- Prior experience in a similar role or a role with demonstrably transferable skillsets
- Knowledge and experience in strategic procurement and contract management
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
- Knowledge and experience in negotiations with the ability to interpret contractual terms related to the procurement of goods, services and consultancy
