
Claims Portfolio Manager

We are seeking an experienced Liability Claims Officer to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of highly sensitive, confidential and historical Liability claims ensuring that quality customer service is provided.
Key Responsibilities- Efficient management of the claims process, resulting in accurate completion and validation of claims
- Interpreting policy coverage and determining if coverage applies to claims submitted, escalating issues as needed
- Establishing and maintaining good client relationships with the insured, brokers, investigators, solicitors and the general public
- Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and standards
- Initiation and completion of any recoveries from third parties
- Self-audit of claims files to ensure positive internal audits
- Response to enquiries in an accurate, timely, professional and courteous manner within Privacy guidelines
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong technical claims experience and expertise in managing complex Latent & Special Risk claims
- Strong technical claims expertise in specialty classes of insurance, including managing complex bodily injury, including psychiatric and psychological injury, with sound decision-making based on technical, investigative, and medical reports
- Proven understanding of underwriting procedures and policy wordings across a diversified liability portfolio
- Skilled in engaging and collaborating with external providers such as loss adjusters, lawyers, and consultants
- Expert knowledge and practical application of the General Insurance Code of Practice
- Effective relationship-building with clients and customers, maintaining confidentiality and resilience
- Capable of participating in alternative dispute resolution processes
