Environmental Health Specialist

This role is responsible for protecting public health and contributing to a safe and healthy community. As an Environmental Health Specialist, you will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant acts and regulations.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and monitor food establishments and other related areas to ensure compliance with food safety standards and prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

  • Investigate complaints and conduct interviews with customers and staff to identify potential hazards and take corrective action.

  • Collaborate with local authorities and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies to protect public health and prevent environmental hazards.

  • Conduct surveillance and sampling of public swimming pools, spas, and water courses to ensure they meet health and safety standards.

  • Participate in organizational projects and initiatives to improve public health outcomes and reduce environmental risks.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Environmental Health or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in environmental health or a related field.
