
Regional Development Support Specialist

The primary objective of this role is to assist in the development of talented football players by providing coaching support and guidance.
Key responsibilities include assisting coaches with training and match day planning, driving a safe and inclusive learning environment for players, and working collaboratively with other coaching staff.
As an Assistant Coach, you will be responsible for overseeing player education and contributing to the selection and development of players. This will involve monitoring and evaluating player progress, providing constructive feedback, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve program objectives.
In addition to your coaching duties, you will participate in regional and state-based training sessions, match days, and interstate travel, gaining valuable experience within the AFL's talent pathway.
This role requires a passion for individual player development, well-developed IT skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You must also possess a sound background and knowledge of coaching principles, as well as the ability to commit to working nights and some weekends.
Required Skills & QualificationsKey qualifications for this role include:
- A strong understanding of coaching principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches and staff members
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Valid Working With Vulnerable People card
