We're seeking a Senior Engineer, Mobile to join our team. This role is critical in developing software for mobile products on the Android Development platform, driving delivery and continuous product improvement. You will maintain the standard for engineering excellence at Xero, support your team members in building products together, and contribute to our cross-functional environment by working towards shared objectives.

  • Create software that showcases technical excellence, automate manual processes, and participate in code reviews as a role model for feedback.
  • Test software effectively, design sophisticated testing activities, and coach team members to ensure high-quality testing aligns with Xero's quality strategy and standards.
  • Resolve issues efficiently, assess causes, identify solutions, and communicate impact to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to Xero's engineering standards and frameworks, work closely with Lead and Principal Engineers, and apply standards to software and delivery processes.
  • Maintain, grow, and share knowledge of development technologies used in Xero's software applications.
  • Champion automation of delivery processes, coach engineers to ensure software runs as expected, and proactively prevent customer-facing problems.

This position requires strong advocacy and teaching of TDD and automated tooling, proficiency in CI/CD concepts and tooling, and experience in developing secure, performant, and scalable software.
