About the Position
Our Healthy Ageing services deliver quality in-home care supporting our customers to maintain well-being and independence in their own surroundings for as long as possible. A typical day assisting our customers to live their best lives may include:
- Assistance with personal care
- Domestic assistance
- Assisted shopping/client appointments
- Respite care
- Meal preparation
- Social support and community engagement
Hours are generally Monday to Friday between 7am –7pm and can include weekends and public holidays as required. Shifts will be shorter in duration with paid travel time between customers in a localised area, where possible.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our dynamic team as a Companionship Worker. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our customers, providing support and companionship to help them live independently in their own homes.
As a Companionship Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing emotional support and companionship to customers
- Assisting with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing and grooming
- Preparing meals and snacks
- Accompanying customers on outings and activities
- Providing respite care for carers
You will work closely with our team to develop and implement person-centred care plans that cater to the unique needs and goals of each customer. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with customers, their families and our team members.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A minimum certificate III in a health-related industry (Individual Support, Aged Care, Nursing etc.)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to develop positive relationships
- Ability to obtain the NDIS Workers Screen Check prior to commencement
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Full Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Smart Phone
- Current Driver's Licence
