Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Officer to join our payroll team in Queensland. As a key member of the payroll team, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate payroll processing, reporting, and advice to multiple properties.

About the Role:

  • End-to-end processing of weekly, fortnightly, and 2-weekly payrolls
  • Ongoing maintenance of payroll systems and leave planning tools
  • Liaising with staff and management on payroll-related queries
  • Interpreting awards/agreements and contracts in relation to overtime, shift allowances etc.
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with month-end reporting, both internal and statutory reporting
  • Payroll administration - e.g. filing, setting up new starters

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years payroll experience
  • Understanding of payroll legislation and processes
  • Effective planning and organisational skills to manage pressure situations, multiple tasks, and ability to work with urgency
  • Ability to deal sensitively and maturely with confidential information and records
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, numerical ability, and data entry skills
