Reliability Engineer Position Overview

The Asset Management team at our operation is seeking a skilled Reliability Engineer to enhance the performance of our mobile equipment fleet.

This key role will involve leveraging data insights and sound engineering principles to improve equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and embed a proactive approach to asset reliability across the operation.

Job Description:

As a Reliability Engineer, you will analyze equipment performance and data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. You will lead root cause analysis (RCA) and defect elimination (DE) investigations, develop and optimize asset strategies, including condition monitoring and life cycle plans.

You will also support the planning and execution of maintenance shutdowns and component replacements, provide engineering support to the Off-Site Repairs (OSR) team, and collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, OEMs, and specialist contractors to implement sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze equipment performance and data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and defect elimination (DE) investigations

  • Support the planning and execution of maintenance shutdowns and component replacements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A mechanical or electrical trade qualification
  • A tertiary qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Proven experience with heavy mobile equipment (HME) maintenance in an open cut mining environment
  • Exposure to maintenance management systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
